What is deuterium?

Deuterium, despite being a naturally occurring element, has been shown to have negative effects on cell metabolism and skin health, but there is still a lot more to explore.

What is
       deuterium depleted water?

Deuterium is a stable isotope of hydrogen with a nucleus consisting of one neutron and one proton. Ordinary hydrogen atoms consist of one proton only, and no neutrons. As a result, deuterium atoms have about twice the mass of normal hydrogen atoms.

Normal water, above the fact that it has negative biological effects, is unable to penetrate the skin tissue.

DDW in the centre of
   scientific research

Due to its unique properties, deuterium is of significant interest not only to researchers in the fields of chemistry, physics, and biology but to cosmetics as well.

Deuterium depleted water
  in psoriasis treatments

Deuterium-depleted water (DDW) is water that has a lower concentration of deuterium than normal water having several benefits in cosmetics.

First of all, it increases the skin’s capacity to absorb the active substances and deliver them to the lower layers of the skin where they may offer long-term relief of psoriasis.

Further benefits of DDW

DDW on the other hand, may improve skin hydration, resistance, and flexibility. This is thought to be because deuterium can interfere with the normal functioning of enzymes involved in skin hydration and collagen production, and so reducing the amount of deuterium in the skin may help to restore the normal production of new skin cells.

Some studies have also shown that DDW may have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which could further contribute to its potential benefits for psoriasis flare-ups.

How is DDW produced?

DDW is a special water produced in laboratories and factories using an isolation and purification isotopic procedure. However, thanks to the heterogeneity of hydrological conditions, the D-content of water varies around the Earth. The deuterium concentration of the natural water from the Antarctic, for instance, is 89.02 ppm.

Research about the
  affects of DDW on psoriasis

A study published in the Journal of Dermatological Science found that treatment with DDW reduced the severity of psoriasis symptoms in mice. Another study published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology found that topical application of DDW improved the efficacy of common psoriasis treatment, suggesting that DDW may be a useful adjunct therapy for psoriasis.

DDW in cosmetics
  and health products

Thanks to its active role in energetic cellular metabolism, and its involvement in the use of glucose, cholesterol and lipids assigned this revolutionary new ingredient as a key agent in the cosmetic and health industry.

Water with a reduced deuterium content, above the aforementioned benefits on cellular energy production, has the capacity to transport the active ingredients with more efficiency directly to the skin cells.

The benefits of
   DDW in Psoralyn

✔ DDW is one of the most efficient carriers as it support the most advanced absorption of active ingredients
✔ It supports the deep penetration of the ingredients offering 24 hour hydration to your skin
✔ DDW enhances the effect of the ingredients, which means that less cream will do greater results
✔ It optimizes the cellular energy, helps overcome aging and supports the immune system

DDW as a carrier contributes maximally to the quick penetration and accelerated absorption of active ingredients.

Major role in the
  cosmetics of the future

However, many benefits of DDW have been researched and analyzed, there is still a need for further surveys and evidence for the effects of DDW in cosmetics. But as its potential for long-term positive effects is very promising, its wide use in cosmetic products treating skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis is expected in the near future.
